Happy New Year!

Here’s hoping we finally start living in harmony with the new horizons and environments developing around us.

I’d like to take these next few weeks to thank the people and organisations that I worked with last year.

In 2021, Disability Arts Online commissioned me to paint the portraits of five inspirational individuals from the disabled community, It included:

  • the late Katherine Araniello – a live art, performance and video artist
  • John Pring, disabled journalist and editor of the Disability News Service
  • Penny Pepper a disabled writer and activist
  • Liz Carr, disabled actor and activist
  • Baroness Jane Campbell, disability rights campaigner and member of the House of Lords

These portraits have since been exhibited in several exhibitions with South London Women Artists and at my solo show “COVID Diaries: A Celebration of Life Under Lockdown” at Sprout Arts in November.

For anyone who missed the exhibition or would like to see it again, Revell Dixon has documented the show in his latest installment of Interactive Mobility on YouTube.

Thank you to everyone who came to my Lockdown Poetry Workshop on Sat 27 Nov 2021 and to those who came to view and/or purchased my lockdown art and paintings at COVID Diaries. A massive thanks to Sarah Hill, Jennifer Yuen, Mike Layward, and Sprout Arts for all your help and support.

If you saw any lockdown art at the show or on my Instagram that you would like to purchase, please send me a message on Instagram or email at mbfcsra@gmail.com. I have some original paintings available still, and all my original works are available as prints, tea towels, and greeting cards.
