On Monday 25 October, 2021, I will be performing poetry and spoken word at The Roebuck Borough, London. Come by for a FREE entertaining night. Enjoy a pint while laughing with comedians Joe Bates and Cecilia Delatori. Take part in OPEN MIC, where it’s your turn to rant and rave on this topic.
Melancholy and Raving is a mental health variety night that has been running for over 2 years now. This year we celebrate the belated World Mental Health Day on the theme of “Mental Health in an Unequal World.”
Mental health is an important topic to me as I believe that it is important to share how we are really doing with others, so that we don’t feel alone. As an artist, I not only make visual art works about depression and madness, but also use spoken word and poetry to speak out on this important topic.
The Roebuck in Borough, London is a sustainable South London pub with a beautiful Victorian building, outdoors area, and an upstairs lounge. It’s one of Borough’s best kept secrets and is independently owned by locals. Moreover, they have a wide range of beers and ales from around the world and a freshly prepared menu full of local produce, and an easy-going and friendly atmosphere.
Tucked away at the leafy end of Great Dover Street, The Roebuck is incredibly easy to get to: Borough tube is less than a five minutes stroll away, whilst a ten minute step brings you from either Elephant & Castle or London Bridge.
See you all there!
